What are the characteristics of the socio-economic and cultural context in which our generation was born? What do the members of a generation have in common?The Pre-Digital Natives
Born in Berlin in the aftermath of the Watergate Crisis (or Stargate, for the moviegoers amongst us...you know, this great portal to the future with a leak in the [w]hole), a time that today's youth can explore, I feel grateful - looking back - to belong to a generation of cognitively privileged individuals: that of the pre-digital natives.A generation structured both by some sense of artistic wizardry and the prevailing lack of access to information, and therefore molded into the resulting scaffold, the one that comes with having to devise survival strategies aimed at recycling doubt into some semblance of certainty.
A temporal advantage of those born at the right time soon to be augmented, for as far as I am concerned, with the spatial meaning of being able to evolve in a very stimulating environment right from birth, which allowed me to cultivate a certain (stereoptically innate) interface memory right from the start.
