Lifefolio V3.7/2024

Foreword to v1.3/2016

Principles of applied copyright

As announced in my Testfolio, the first four modules of this audit cycle 2013 to 2016 are conceived as a 4D-enabled framework providing for the matrix-based squaring of the virtuous problem-solving circle by the NetPlusUltra® formula. As considered against the background of this meta-framework, the present Lifefolio provides the author's autobiographical playground dedicated to all cross-generational influences and issues which have shaped his/her understanding through his formative years:

Accordingly, this third augmented iteration of version 1 constitutes a genuine theory of everything virtual, unified by the NetPlusUltra® formula, which aims at demonstrating - along a pathway through conceptual building blocks (explaining the solution to all internet issues) - all fundamental interactions of a systemic framework dedicated to its unique core, which is none other than the NetPlusUltra® formula itself: as a uniquely virtual (i.e. computerized) problem-solving process derived from a conceptualization of the European Intellectual Property rationale, the whole purpose thereof is to make the law…applicable!

As considered from the perspective of the author seeking to showcase his/her artwork into a Lifefolio, the problem to be solved is about:

  • restoring, maintaining, and cultivating,
  • in sensorial high-fidelity,
  • with a view to the multidimensional separation of concerns,
  • and in the form of incidence matrixes,

…our memories of all influences which directly or indirectly stimulate, at various levels of perception, the metacognitive processes by which new artworks are created.

By raising the question of which legal strategy to implement in order to achieve this goal, the above problem definition leads us straight to the heart of the matter and forces us to reconsider a few fundamental principles, as the main concern is to build an individual return-on-experience showcase model without altering third-party copyrights:

  1. From the general and specific perspectives of an author seeking to earn a living from his/her productions, the whole moral and financial purpose of self-publishing is to gain recognition from his/her target audience(s) in an usefully edu-, info- or hypertaining fashion.
  2. Freedom of expression implies the right to quote, which allows an author (artist, knowledge professional, researcher, teacher, etc.) to develop his/her own argumentation by referring to third-party sources; considering that forbidding to quote would only deter creation, terms of use should focus on framing the risk of misquoting for sectarian purposes (taking other peoples' creations out of their original context without citing the source).
  3. While it is true that any type of creative processing should start with a compilation of third-party sources (i.e. an inventory of contents pertaining to what the author seeks to express or demonstrate), it is all the more important to know that such a compilation will only be considered as an outline of something new if it is conceptually framed (into a folio) for that purpose, i.e. if it respects the first two principles.
  4. Considering finally that the benefit of a playlist lies precisely in its very nature as a compilation of quotes (dedicated to a specific argument), in which every quoted item redirects directly to (one of) its legitimate source(s), the core issue resides in the official (ISOteric) quotation standards to be adopted for each main format category (text, audio, video, code, web page): this is the purpose of this Lifefolio…
…in other words: the reason why it is engineered this way!
